Bronny James sent to G League after just three NBA games with dad LeBron amid 'nepo baby' claims

Bronny James sent to G League after just three NBA games with dad LeBron amid 'nepo baby' claims

Bronny will play in the G League.

Bronny James - the son of NBA legend LeBron - has been demoted down to the G League for upcoming matches.

The G League is the minor league organisation in US basketball. It contains 31 teams, 30 of which are affiliated to an NBA franchise.

James, 20, made his professional basketball debut this season alongside LeBron for the Los Angeles Lakers.

But after two further appearances, he will now play for the South Bay Lakers - who are affiliated with the LA Lakers - in the G League.

Coach JJ Redick told the media that the franchise always planned to move James between the two teams as he adapts to playing professional basketball regularly.

He explained: "Our plans are always fluid based on real time.

"The plan for Bronny to move between the Lakers and South Bay has always been the plan since day one. [General manager] Rob [Pelinka] and I have talked about that. LeBron's talked about that."

Bronny was drafted to the Lakers as the 55th overall pick earlier this year after a season playing college basketball.

At the time, Pelinka stated that the franchise had a plan for his development and were impressed by both his potential and character.

They decided to sign him to a two-way deal that would allow him to play in the G League along with his NBA commitments in order to develop his skills further.

There has been a mixed reaction from fans to his involvement with the Lakers at this stage in his career, with one fan even going as far as to call him a 'nepo baby' after his NBA debut alongside father LeBron last month.

Taking to Twitter, one user wrote: "Bronny may be the biggest nepo baby in the history of Los Angeles, which is saying a lot."
