UFC cause meltdown as Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler event cancelled at the last minute

The UFC posted a statement on social media.

The UFC have sparked concerns over Conor McGregor's fight against Michael Chandler following the sudden cancellation of a pre-fight event.

McGregor, who hasn't fought since July 2021, is set to make his highly-anticipated UFC comeback on June 29.

As thing stands, he will return against Michael Chandler in the main-event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

And McGregor and Chandler were set to come face-to-face in a pre-fight press conference ahead of their welterweight showdown.

The media event was scheduled to take place today at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

However, the pre-fight presser has been 'postponed until further notice'.

On X, the UFC wrote: "Dear UFC Fans-- The #UFC303 press conference scheduled for Monday June 3rd in Dublin, Ireland at 3Arena has been postponed until further notice.

"We sincerely apologise to all the fans who were planning to attend. When we have further information on a new date and time, we will share it immediately. - Thank you."

The mysterious decision comes just days after Dana White spoke about the media event during the UFC 302 post-fight fight conference.

He spoke about his excitement of travelling to Ireland for the presser.

The UFC CEO was also asked about the videos emerging online of the 'Notorious' partying ahead of his UFC 303 assignment.

"We were talking about Jon Jones,” he explained.

"Jon Jones was doing a lot of that stuff too back in the day and many other fighters throughout history.

"I don’t know what’s real on the internet and what’s not real on the internet.

"I don’t know timing-wise; in one of them he’s got a beard, in one of them he doesn’t have a beard."

White added: "I have no idea, I don’t know if any of that is real or true or whatever.

"But Conor is not a dumb guy, and this is obviously a big fight for him."

"He’s calling it the best comeback in the history of sports and all of that stuff. So we’ll see what happens."
