Tom Aspinall destroys Curtis Blaydes to defend interim UFC heavyweight title at UFC 304

Tom Aspinall stopped Curtis Blaydes in the first round.

Tom Aspinall delivered a sensational first-round knockout against Curtis Blaydes to defend his interim UFC heavyweight title at UFC 304.

Aspinall dropped Blaydes with a huge right-hand before stopping him on the ground following a barrage of unanswered punches in just one minute of the very first round.

Aspinall exacts revenge over Blaydes, having suffered a crushing 15-second TKO (knee injury) defeat back in July 2022.

He shared a warm embrace with the American following the fight as they exchanged words in a respectful moment.

After the bout, the Englishman called for a showdown against undisputed UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who is set to face Stipe Miocic in November.

Speaking to Daniel Cormier inside the Octagon, he said: "Hello, Jon. I have nothing against you personally.

"I just think I'm better than you. I just know I can beat you in a fight, so I'm coming for you."

Aspinall now has eight big wins under the UFC banner and has one interim title defence to his name.
