Joe Rogan has revealed the conditions Vice-President Kamala Harris demanded in order to appear on his podcast.
Ahead of last year's US presidential election, Donald Trump, his running mate JD Vance and Tesla CEO and Trump supporter Elon Musk all appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience.
Such is the popularity and influence of Rogan's podcast – which averages around 11 million listeners per episode – that the appearances of Trump and his cohorts has been credited with boosting the former president's voter base ahead of the election that he would go on to win back in November.

Rogan's representatives were also in conversation with Harris' campaign to try to arrange for the Democratic Party's nominee to be a guest on the show, but no deal was every struck and in a recent episode the MMA analyst revealed the 'hilarious' reason why.
“They had requirements on things she didn’t want to talk about,” he said. “She didn’t want to talk about marijuana legalisation — which I thought was hilarious.”
Rogan began his podcast in 2009 and it quickly gained wide popularity. Initially, his guests came largely from the worlds of MMA and comedy, but over time the show began to broadened its topics and guests have come from such diverse spheres and science, music, movies and politics.

Such big-name stars as Mike Tyson, Lance Armstrong and Kanye West. In 2020, Spotify purchased exclusive rights to the JRE in a deal that reportedly saw Rogan pocket $100 million, and the stand-up comedian renewed terms with the streaming giant last year in another mega-deal, this time worth $250 million.
Recorded at Rogan's bespoke studio in Austin, Texas, episodes regularly run past the three-hour mark, with long, unstructured, winding conversations. Another sticking point in negotiations with Harris was over the length and venue of the the proposed interview.
“They offered a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her and they only wanted to do an hour," Rogan said in a statement at the time. "I strongly feel the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin.
