Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler 'agree' new date for UFC fight months after cancellation

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler 'agree' new date for UFC fight months after cancellation

The pair have both agreed to settle their rivalry soon.

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler seem to have agreed to have their much anticipated fight later this year.

The pair were scheduled to fight at UFC 303 on June 29, but the fight was postponed after McGregor sustained a toe injury which ruled him out of the bout.

Rumours have circulated for months on when the rearranged fight would take place, as fans eagerly await the matchup.

And now it appears that an announcement for the fight may arrive soon after the two men agreed to fight later this year.

After UFC president Dana White announced that fans would not see 'Notorious' before the end of the year, McGregor angrily took to social media to suggest a date for the Chandler fight.

"Ah Dana, December is the date! Bring the calendar year home with a winning event," wrote McGregor in a now-deleted post on X.

"Come on now, what’s this? I am off to altitude next month to prepare."

Shortly after, Chandler responded to his opponent's demands confidently writing: "December it is 🤝"

White has since reacted to McGregor and Chandler's demands, suggesting that a end of year fight remains unlikely, but is not impossible.

White told Sportsnet: "You can imagine after I said that Conor was blowing me up going 'I'm definitely fighting this year!'

"When we get to a point where we're setting a fight, and I believe that a Conor McGregor fight is going to happen. I will announce it.

"As of right now, I believe that Conor will not fight this year. Conor's saying he wants the fight in December, we'll see how it plays out."

But Chandler disagrees, as he has now again spoken out about the claims from both White and McGregor.

'Iron' told TMZSport: "Dana, as much as we love him, he has also said somethings that were just absolutely false, that's his job sometimes to give you misinformation.

"So sometimes saying that the fight isn't happening this year, might mean that this fight is happening this year.

"As far as I know this fight has some very huge prospects to happen by the end of the year."
