Ian Garry claims Michael 'Venom' Page will be 'suspended for life' after UFC 303 over bribery accusation

Ian Garry claims Michael 'Venom' Page will be 'suspended for life' after UFC 303 over bribery accusation

Ian Garry made a huge accusation towards his UFC 303 opponent

Ian Garry has made a shocking accusation towards his UFC 303 opponent Michael ‘Venom’ Page.

The Irish star puts his undefeated record on the line to face the British fan favourite in Page’s second fight since signing in the UFC.

A press conference for the event, which was originally slated to be headlined by Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, took place on Thursday ahead of the official weigh-ins the following day.

During the event, Garry made a shocking accusation towards Page and claims it could lead to him being suspended from the promotion.

The 26-year-old claimed Page and his team tried to bribe members of Garry’s gym for information about him ahead of their bout, though there is not yet any proof this accusation is true.

He said: “I've already broke this man's confidence down so much. He knows, I don't need to say what I'm talking about.

“You know exactly what I'm on about. Your self-confidence is f*****d. You know what I'm talking about.

“It will come out. It will come out, kid. But your brain is f***ing scurrying for excuses. Do you want to say it or will I? Tell the people.

“Did you and your team offer thousands of dollars to get information in Chute Boxe from my boys?”

Garry continued: “Did you send someone a message and offer thousands for information, yet couldn't infiltrate the camp/ You couldn't get into [it], the Chute Boxe family is too tight.

“Your little f***ing rat jiu-jitsu coach offered money to one of my Brazilian friends and you got nothing. Saturday night, you're f****d.

“You and your jiu-jitsu coach are getting suspended for life.”

Page wasn’t interested in the allegations and immediately laughed them off.

“This guy's hilarious. All I know is the one and only 'MVP' is here at the UFC and I'm about to make some noise,” he said.

Garry later posted on social media that he has ‘receipts’ for his allegation, suggesting there is evidence of the messages sent to his team.

The Irishman goes into the bout as a slight betting favourite in what is expected to be a fascinating stand up battle between two elite fighters.

UFC 303 will be headlined by a light heavyweight title rematch between reigning champion Alex Pereira and challenger Jiri Prochazka, both men who stepped in on late notice following McGregor’s withdrawal from the event due to injury.
