Dana White has responded to Conor McGregor after he suggested a major rule change in UFC.
While there is no news on when the two-weight UFC champion will be returning to the Octagon after a lengthy hiatus, McGregor was closely watching UFC 307 on Saturday night.
His former rival Jose Aldo competed in Salt Lake City, losing to Mario Bautista via split decision and sinking to his knees when the scorecards were announced and only one judge had scored it in his favour.
McGregor was also not happy and took issue with the way in which Bautista was able to control Aldo against the cage for large spells.

He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to slam the decision and called referees to get involved.
McGregor wrote: "Dirt decision...Rogan said the judges weren’t even looking. "That was Jose’s story. Bulls*** decision.
"He has just said he was shooting in just to hold him against the fence.
"That’s not good enough. Referees need to step in here. This sport is the fans' sport.

"Remember this and act accordingly referees, going forward, thank you."
McGregor then proceeded to propose that a stalling clock is introduced to prevent the lack of inactivity, explaining how it would work.
In a now-deleted post, he added: “As referee, if the fighters go to the same place of [stall] over and over I would be putting the position on a clock.
"And each time they end back there the clock goes shorter.

30 second clock. 20 second clock, 10 second, 8 second, 6 second etc etc etc separate, separate, separate.
"No point prolonging these positions as if they haven’t taken place exactly the same way prior and nothing has taken place but stalling. My opinion.”
White, who also slammed the officiating and judging across the card, was asked about McGregor's proposal.

However, he wasn't quite in favour and instead called for common sense from the referees in knowing when to intervene.
In his post-fight presser, White said: "I don’t even think you need a clock. I mean, it’s common sense.
"When the guy keeps doing it and is doing everything he can to not fight and not win the fight, as a ref, you should break it up immediately.

“If he just did it three rounds in a row and keeps doing it… give him a couple seconds [and] see if he gets a takedown, then break it up."
