Jon Jones choking out a fan unconscious then immediately coming to his rescue is still one of the most bizarre MMA encounters in the sport's history.

For some strange reason, a fan wanted to be choked out by the UFC legend.

He made an appearance at the FIBO fitness trade show in Cologne, Germany, and, it's safe to say, he had a pretty eventful time.

A fan asked Jones to put him in a submission hold, with 'Bones' obliging as he performed a rear naked choke.

Yes, really. Imagine wanting to be choked out by a man who has submitted some of the scariest fighters in UFC history...

Well, Jones locked in the submission and subsequently put him to sleep. He immediately revived the person, lifting his legs.

He woke up looking fairly groggy as the pair embraced. What a moment.

Jones is no stranger to applying the choke hold, having submitted the likes of Ryan Bader, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson and Lyoto Machida during his legendary run at 205lbs.

After vacating the UFC light-heavyweight championship, Jones became the UFC heavyweight champion after a dominant performance over Ciryl Gane last March.

He took a little over two minutes to stop Gane to win the UFC heavyweight title.

A bout against former title holder Stipe Miocic appears to be next, but he seems to have his eyes on Tyson Fury, having called him out on social media.

"Hey Tyson, it seem like Joe may have struck a nerve," he tweeted.

"I’ll admit there’s no one touching you in that ring right now, but let’s not let that confuse you with what would happen if you stepped foot in my cage.

"If you ever want to put some of those questions you got going on to rest, give Dana a call. I’ll help you out."
