Joe Rogan has a unique way of booking guests for his podcast after making a U-turn on Donald Trump.
Trump won the 2024 US presidential election, with his appearance on the 'Joe Rogan Experience' proving crucial in his victory over Kamala Harris.
The 78-year-old taped a three-hour podcast with Rogan in a wide-ranging sit-down, ranging from his previous White House tenure to whether extraterrestrial life exists.

But the UFC commentator had previously rejected Trump's request to go on his hugely-popular podcast.
"I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once. I’ve said no every time." he said on Lex Fridman's podcast back in July 2022. "I don’t want to help him."
Fast forward two years, Rogan changed his tune as he had Trump on his podcast last October.
Normally, though, Rogan books his guests himself through his own contacts, often texting or emailing the invitation.

That's according to Lulu Cheng Meservey, who shared her experience of the 57-year-old's podcast when Substack's CEO Chris Best appeared on the show.
"Joe books his guests himself," she explained. "If he wants to chat with someone, he texts or emails them directly. Occasionally his buddy Matt helps reach out to people, but usually it’s just Joe on his phone, confirming guests and plugging tapings into the calendar.
"JRE doesn’t optimise for hosting big names or boosting downloads, hence rejecting Trump’s request to go on. Compared to other shows, there are not a lot of CEOs or businesspeople either. Instead, Joe hosts a lot of comedians, YouTubers, and people who are his friends - because, as he says, 'It’s fun'."

She then went onto reveal that there's no producer for Rogan's podcast, detailing the laid-back approach.
"Also unlike a typical show, there’s no producer going back and forth with you on topics, format, or anything else." she added. "There’s no elaborate prep or negotiation. When Joe suggests a date, you agree and make travel plans, and then you just show up at the address he gives you."
