A blockbuster bout between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones is being targeted for UFC 285 on March 5 in Las Vegas, according to stunning reports.
Jones hasn't fought in the UFC since February 2020, when he beat Dominick Reyes at UFC 247.
He relinquished the UFC light-heavyweight title and announced his move to heavyweight, setting up a monstrous showdown against Ngannou.

And it appears the UFC are working on Ngannou vs. Jones, with MMA Junkie claiming it's penciled in for UFC 285 on March 5.
The match up against Ngannou comes after the promotion tried to match 'Bones' against Stipe Miocic, who failed to agree terms with Dana White and Co.
But it seems the UFC are moving towards Ngannou to defend his UFC heavyweight title against the returning UFC superstar.

The report states that if 'The Predator' is ready, then he'll fight Jones. If not, the UFC will have to go to Plan C, Jones vs. someone else.
It's believed the UFC also has a bout between Jones vs. Curtis Blaydes as a perspective safety net should Ngannou not be ready.
One thing is for sure, though, Jones is closing in on his Octagon comeback, with the UFC president sharing his thoughts on the former UFC champion's return.

"It’s very interesting because I’m a huge believer in ring rust," White said earlier this year.
"But for all the negative things you could say about Jon Jones and his personal life and things that have happened, he’s the best. He’s definitely the best of all time."
Jones has won four UFC fights in a row since his no-contest against Daniel Cormier back in July 2017.
Ngannou, on the other hand, has won six UFC fights on the bounce since losing to Derrick Lewis.
