McGregor has only had four UFC bouts since his lucrative Las Vegas showdown against Floyd Mayweather in August 2017.
He's 1-3 in his last four UFC contests, having only beaten Donald Cerrone during that period.
The Irishman has lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier twice since making his boxing debut.
McGregor, though, appears to be gunning for another shot at UFC gold, having not held a UFC title since November 2016, when he became a two-weight UFC champion after stopping Eddie Alvarez in New York.
