Conor McGregor has shared his most bizarre video to date ahead of his anticipated UFC comeback and it's got fans talking.

The 'Notorious' hasn't fought since July 2021 when he suffered a crushing first round TKO defeat to Dustin Poirier.

But he's closing in on his Octagon return, having recovered from his broken leg.

He's looking for a big fight as he eyes a UFC title shot despite being on a two-fight losing skid.

And ahead of stepping foot inside the cage, McGregor has taken to social media to post a peculiar video.

He's uploaded footage of himself in what appears to be a monkey filter.

In the clip, he can he heard saying: "I told you I'd be back!"

Needless to say, the video of McGregor using the monkey filter got fight fans online talking.

One Twitter user wrote: "6 years ago, you were the best. Now, you’re not even top 30 in the UFC. How the turns have tabled."

A second tweeted: "A new low for sure."

A third added: "Man Khabib really changed him."

Another commented: "The former simultaneous 145 - 155 champion ladies and gentlemen."

The 34-year-old recently announced that he's plotting a comeback in early 2023.

"I'm going to be back soon, hopefully," he said on Instagram. "Early 2023 I'm aiming for. Sometime in that first quarter."

McGregor has only had four UFC bouts since his lucrative Las Vegas showdown against Floyd Mayweather in August 2017.

He's 1-3 in his last four UFC contests, having only beaten Donald Cerrone during that period.

The Irishman has lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier twice since making his boxing debut.

McGregor, though, appears to be gunning for another shot at UFC gold, having not held a UFC title since November 2016, when he became a two-weight UFC champion after stopping Eddie Alvarez in New York.
