Lewis Hamilton has vowed to win again despite yet another poor start to the Formula 1 season.
Mercedes had a year to forget in 2022 as they struggled to acclimatise to the sport’s new rules and regulations. Their dominance was shattered by rivals Red Bull and Ferrari.
Ahead of the 2023 season, there was renewed optimism that Mercedes would be back fighting at the front of the grid.

However, the Bahrain Grand Prix was a brutal reality check as the Silver Arrows remain a long way off the front runners.
On the back of his claims that the team didn’t listen to him, Hamilton has now clarified his words.
He said: “I mean, in hindsight, I think looking back, it wasn’t necessarily the best choice of words.

“But, of course, there are times when you’re not in agreement with certain team members. What’s important is that we continue to communicate, we continue to pull together.
“I still have 100 per cent belief in this team, it is my family, and I’ve been here a long time, so I don’t plan on going anywhere else. But we all need a kick, we all need to get on.”
The Brit also vowed to win again, he added: “I will win again. It’s just going to take some time. Of course, in 2021 when we were here, we were hoping to be fighting for another world championship.”
Fans were quick to react to Hamilton’s latest claims.

One said: “Wow strong words from Lewis, lets hope he can pull it out of the fire.”
Another tweeted: “Not with Mercedes in their current state. If they can fix themselves, it'll be interesting again.”
A third fan added: “This season unfortunately I don't think so but in the future definitely.”
Someone else wrote: “Let’s hope it comes soon. Lewis doesn’t want another winless season.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “I love these quotes, he is hardly going to say otherwise. If he has the car, then he can, but he has a younger team mate pushing him, I think we have seen his best, time will tell if he can maintain that level.”
F1 returns this weekend with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah.
