West Brom forward Daryl Dike has confessed to washing his clothes with dishwasher tablets for the past eight months. And no, this is not a joke. Here he is telling the story.
The 22-year-old American, who joined Steve Bruce's side from MLS outfit Orlando City in January, opened up about the unfortunate series of events in a recent video on his TikTok account.

He began: “So funny story time and before I continue, yes, I know I’m an idiot. I fully understand that.
"For the longest time I have thought that my washing machine is just crap. But anyways when I moved into this apartment I bought one of those huge bags of laundry detergent to wash all my clothes.
"Recently it ran out so I went to the store to buy some more. I’m looking at the bag and I can’t find the bag anywhere in the store. I’m sitting there like ‘why can’t I find it?’”
“I come back to my apartment and I look down at the bag I have..."

And this is when Dike zooms in at an empty packet of Finish Powerball Quantum Ultimate tablets. "This is what I’ve been using," he laughs. "I have been washing my clothes with dishwasher soap since I’ve been here.
"I have lived in England for eight months!”

After initially thinking his washing machine was at fault, the United States international was actually just walking around the West Midlands smelling like a dishwasher tablet.
But then again, at least there was a hint of 'lemon sparkle' in there.
As you can imagine, the 22-year-old was given a hard time by some on social media, but the majority found it hilarious. One fan commented: "Huge respect for admitting it," while another wrote: "Takes a big person to publicly admit this."
A third said: "I love this so much. What a top bloke for telling the story."

A fourth said: "West Brom’s Daryl Dike has been walking into training smelling like a Finish Powerball for eight months."
Do you know anyone who would make an almightly blunder like this?
