Chelsea are lining up a move for Victor Osimhen, as they attempt to gazump rivals Manchester United to the signing of their summer target.

There has been no shortage of incomings at Chelsea since Todd Boehly bought the club last year, with the American spending an inordinate amount of money on transfers.

In January alone, the Blues broke the record for the most expensive in British history by bringing in Enzo Fernandez, after needing 20 hours of negotiations non-stop.

There was so many incomings in the winter window that not all of them could even be registered for the next stages of the Champions League.

There is expected to be a bit of a clear out at Stamford Bridge in the summer, with up to a dozen players potentially on the chopping block.

However, it won't just be players leaving come the window opening, with the west London club also set to spend more money to bring players in.

One of those could be Osimhen, with talkSPORT reporting that the Blues are considering a move for the Napoli striker, who has helped his side get to the top of Serie A.

The 24-year-old would likely cost upwards of £100 million but Boehly has not held back in spending what he needs in order to get players in.

United are desperate to add a forward to their squad at the end of the current campaign, with Erik ten Hag looking to strengthen his squad.

The manager started the season with only Anthony Martial, Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford as players who could play in the number nine position.

Martial has been injured for much of the season, and rumoured to potentially be sold, whilst Ronaldo left following his falling out with the club.

Rashford's form is excellent but he has repeatedly said that he would rather play on the left than through the middle, and he can't be their only goal outlet.

Harry Kane has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but Tottenham Hotspur are still working on keeping him in north London, and he is also five years older than Osimhen.

United's own future in the transfer window could be massively altered depending on their upcoming takeover, with Qatari investors interested in buying them.

They would supposedly pump over £2 billion into the stadium, as well as hoping to return the club back to the top of the league with huge sums in the transfer window.
