USA vs Iran referee: Who are the match officials for the World Cup clash?

Iran vs USA in the 2022 World Cup takes place on Tuesday. Here are the confirmed match officials for the Group B fixture.

Carlos Queiroz's Iran go into the game as a frontrunner to qualify from Group B. They are second in the group, having defeated Wales 2-0 on matchday two.

Their goal difference is poor, having lost 6-2 to England in their first game. But unless they can only draw to the United States, and Wales beat England, that should not be a factor in whether they qualify.

The US have drawn their opening two games - a 1-1 draw against Wales preceded a 0-0 stalemate versus England.

But Gregg Berhalter's side have shown quality in both matches, and better finishing could have seen them produce a surprise victory over the Three Lions on Friday.

Despite going into the final round of group fixtures in third position in Group B, therefore, they will still have plenty of confidence. As will Iran, who were deserving of their win over Wales and could have scored even more than their two goals.

Iran vs USA will be officiated by Spanish referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz.

And the Spaniard was the man in the middle for the 2021 Champions League final between Manchester City and Chelsea.
