According to former Sunday Mirror sports news editor Darren Witcoop, who now works in PR & Talent management in sport and entertainment, Wrexham have emerged as "front-runners" to sign Sheffield Wednesday's young striker Bailey Cadamarteri on loan.
The 19-year-old, who is the son of Danny Cadamarteri, has come through the youth team ranks at Hillsborough and has five goals in 26 games for the Owls, having made his debut for the club in 2022.
Cadamarteri's Wednesday contract runs until the summer of 2028 which was agreed at the end of last year, which explains why Wrexham are said to be signing the teenager on loan from the Championship club as he gets more minutes of senior men's football under his belt.
