A move never materialised but heading towards the summer transfer window, it has been reported that Osimhen could part ways with Napoli.
According to former Chelsea and Nigeria midfielder John Obi Mikel, Osimhen has already made his mind up about his next club.
As reported by Calciomercato, Mikel said at the Web Summit Qatar: “I think there is genuine interest on both sides. I’m convinced that Victor wants to come to Chelsea, obviously he wants to follow in my footsteps and the Nigerian players who played for Chelsea, such as Victor Moses, Celestine Babayaro…

“And there’s also London, a fantastic city, there’s no comparison with Liverpool or places like that.”
He added: “He also has many clubs interested in him, such as PSG, Manchester United, but I am pushing, sending him messages, trying to make sure that there is only one club in his mind: the Blues!”
Speaking about his own future, Osimhen said after Napoli’s 6-1 win over Sassuolo: “When you are one of the hottest strikers in the globe, you expect this kind of thing. Of course, EPL is one of the biggest and best leagues in the whole world. At Napoli, I just signed a new contract, I enjoy my time there, going through it with the team, and at the end of the season... I already made up my mind.

“I know what I want to do with my career. Since I've started I've been the one taking my own decisions and everything's working out for me, even though when I started, it didn't go as well as planned, but I already had my plan. I already knew the next step I want to take.”
