Tottenham and Manchester United are set to do battle over the signing of a World Cup finalist in the January transfer window, David Ornstein has reported.
Both Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim are keen to add to their squads in January, though their two clubs have significantly different financial situations.
Amorim has stated that it is unlikely United will do significant business in January due to FFP unless they sell players.

Spurs, meanwhile, are in a more positive position and have already completed a move for Czech Republic goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky for around £12.5 million.
According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, the north London club are already turning towards signing number two - with United also eyeing the same player.
It is claimed that PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani is of interest to both clubs, who are keen to complete a loan deal until the end of the season.

The France striker - who missed a key opportunity in extra time of the World Cup final that would have seen his nation win if converted - signed for PSG for €90 million in 2023.
He scored six goals in 25 Ligue 1 games last season, and has two goals in 10 appearances this term.
However, Kolo Muani has been left out of PSG's squad by manager Luis Enrique in recent weeks amid poor form, and a January move away from the club appears to be inevitable.

French outlet Telefoot report that if a loan deal was to be brokered, PSG would demand an option for the loaning club to buy Kolo Muani at the end of the season.
They have already turned down a straight loan offer from fellow Ligue 1 side Monaco after their star striker Folarin Balogun suffered a serious injury.
Speaking last month when asked about Kolo Muani's repeated exclusion from the PSG squad, Enrique stated: "I could speak about it, but I won't because my decisions say it all, even if, as I have said, all my decisions can be changed."
