Premier League club ready to make stunning move for Aurelien Tchouameni in January after he was 'transfer listed' by Real Madrid

Tchouameni could be playing in the Premier League in January.

A Premier League club is reportedly preparing to make a stunning bid for Aurelien Tchouameni in January with Real Madrid willing to sell him.

The France international joined Real in the summer of 2022, later admitting that he turned down an offer from Liverpool to move to Madrid instead.

He reached the World Cup final with France in 2022 and was part of the Real squad that won the Champions League last season.

However, he suffered a stress fracture in his foot during the semi-final of the latter competition against Bayern Munich, missing the final as a result.

This season, he has been a regular starter for Real in all competitions, but Los Blancos have had a poor start to the season under Carlo Ancelotti.

They suffered a 4-0 humiliation at the hands of El Clasico rivals Barcelona in the Bernabeu earlier this month, and and lost to French side Lille in the Champions League.

According to reports, Real are willing to part company with the midfielder to fund other high-profile transfers, despite handing him a six-year contract when he arrived in Spain.

And TEAMtalk now claim that Liverpool are exploring the possibility of going back in for Tchouameni, with manager Arne Slot said to be keen on bringing him to Merseyside.

The Reds were adamant in the summer that Martin Zubimendi was their only target for the defensive midfield role - an area the club are clearly keen to strengthen in.

Once the Spaniard turned down a move, Liverpool kept faith in what they already had the club, though it is unclear if Tchouameni was ever a realistic alternative at the time.

Now, they could return for a player who Jurgen Klopp wanted to sign in his penultimate summer transfer window as Liverpool boss - as part of what is now a new era for the current table-topping side.
