Mason Greenwood is “devastated” and “doesn’t know which was to turn” after leaving Manchester United, it has been claimed.
United announced on Monday that Greenwood would be leaving the club following an internal investigation into allegations of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault against him.
In a statement, United said: "All those involved, including Mason, recognise the difficulties with him recommencing his career at Manchester United. It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome."

The Crown Prosecution Service discontinued its case against Greenwood back in February, citing the withdrawal of key witnesses” and the emergence of “new material” that meant the prospect of conviction was no longer “realistic”.
But the 21-year-old one-cap England international had been suspended from United training and matches ever since while the club completed an internal investigation into his conduct.
And upon United announcing Greenwood’s departure, the player said in his own statement that he accepted he had "made mistakes" and took his "share of responsibility", but added: "I did not do the things I was accused of."
The 21-year-old has since been linked to several clubs on the continent, in Saudi Arabia and even an unnamed side in Albania, as he looks to reignite his football career.

But the Sun has claimed that the scrutiny Greenwood has faced while attempting to find a new club has left the player “devastated” and fearing for his future in football.
Citing an unnamed source, the publication said: “Mason always wanted to re-start his career at the highest level possible.
"He hoped and believed it would be with United.
“The strength of feeling has now left him worried if he will ever play in the top leagues again.

"Playing in somewhere like Albania was never part of his plans, ever.”
It has been widely alleged that Italian Serie A side Roma and the Saudi Premier League have indicated they are no longer interested in signing Greenwood, due to the potential PR storm that could come their way.
