Sporting forward Marcus Edwards could be set to make a shock move to an English side late in the January transfer window.
Former Tottenham Hotspur academy star Edwards left the Premier League club before making his senior debut, instead joining Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes SC.
The winger spent nearly three years with his new club before transferring to Liga Portugal rivals Sporting CP to play under Ruben Amorim.

But now, a new report has revealed that former Spurs wonderkid might make a return to English football this month, five years after leaving the London club.
Edwards has impressed since moving to the Portuguese league, scoring 44 goals and assisting another 40 across 216 appearances for both Vitoria Guimaraes and Sporting in all competitions.
He has therefore attracted interest from several of the top sides in England, including Arsenal who reportedly considered making a move just last summer.

But now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the 26-year-old could be set for a move to the English second division to join a promotion-chasing Burnley side.
Confirming the news on social media platform X, Romano revealed that the Northern club are currently in advanced talks to complete the deal ahead of the window closing on Monday.
Only the final details of the transfer need to be decided upon, with Edwards reportedly keen to make the move and reunite with manager Scott Parker, who he played alongside at Tottenham.

As it stands, Burnley are third in the Championship table, just three points behind league leader Leeds United and one point behind second-placed Sheffield United.
Should they be able to complete the deal for Edwards, it could be a massive turning point in the race for promotion, with the winger seen by many as someone who could tear up the English second tier.
Reacting to the news on social media, one fan wrote: "The Marcus Edwards to Burnley signing, they are so compact as a team and unit.
"Stay solid and allow Edwards to play with freedom, free him up they are such a disciplined structure. Let him off the hook and that could be promotion sealed has real moments and a match winner in him."
