Timo Werner is poised to move to Tottenham Hotspur on loan from RB Leipzig this January with the North London side set to land the Germany international ahead of Manchester United.
The 27-year-old forward was last in English football with Chelsea, spending two years at Stamford Bridge between 2020 and 2022.
He scored 23 goals in 89 games there and won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, before heading back to RB Leipzig for a reported £25.3m as Chelsea made a loss on the £47.5m they paid for him back in 2020.

Now, it appears Werner is set to head back to English football with a loan spell for the rest of the campaign with Ange Postecoglou's side.
The move appears to be nearing its completion, with Leipzig boss Marco Rose confirming Werner is set to head to the North London club from the Bundesliga outfit.
Speaking to Sky Germany, he said: "It's right that Timo wants to go on loan. Timo would like to go to the European Championship.

"We wish him all the best and are keeping our fingers crossed for him."
Spurs have the option to make the deal a permanent one at the end of the season as they seek to help fill the void left by former captain Harry's Kane's move to Bayern Munich last summer, plus the injury suffered to James Maddison and Son Heung-min's current spell away with South Korea at the Asia Cup.
Of course, Spurs are not the only club which requires reinforcements in the striking department.

Manchester United acquired Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta over the summer, but the young Denmark international has struggled to find regular goals in the Premier League so far in his time with the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag's side have struggled for goals this campaign, with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Antony and many other of the club's attacking talents misfiring.
Reports have suggested that United were in the frame for the former Chelsea man, but opted not to make a move ultimately.
And transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed the reason why, which is a bit concerning if you're a fan of the Old Trafford club.

Extraordinarily, Romano has claimed that United decided not to go for Werner because they are not sure what kind of player they wish to sign.
Speaking to Caught Offside, he said: "It’s a loan, Spurs have buy option but not mandatory so they can get a look at the player before committing. Timo is super hungry as he believes this is great opportunity for him.
"Manchester United also considered Werner as a possibility but then they decided not to proceed also because it’s not clear yet what kind of player they want.”
