Manchester United are expected to be active in this summer's transfer window after a disastrous Premier League campaign but have been handed a boost in their pursuit of a key target.
United are having their worst campaign of the Premier League era with a finish in the bottom half of the table very much on the cards.
Having sacked previous boss Erik ten Hag, United's form has not picked up and the Old Trafford side sits 15th ahead of this evening's clash on the road against Leicester City.

United did make two signings in the January transfer window, signing Patrick Dorgu from Lecce and Ayden Heaven from Arsenal.
This summer's transfer window is set to be a key one with it being Amorim's first one at the club following his switch from Sporting CP.
Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford could depart the club permanently, with the attacking duo currently out on loan at Chelsea and Aston Villa respectively.

Question marks also surround Antony's future, with the Brazilian currently on loan at Spanish club Real Betis.
Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen are also expected to leave on free transfers following the expiration of their contracts, as is veteran defender Jonny Evans.
Incomings are expected to help replenish the ranks at Old Trafford and United have been handed a transfer boost on one of their key targets.

Victor Osimhen is currently playing for Turkish side Galatasaray on loan from Italian outfit Napoli.
The 26-year-old Nigerian international has 26 goals in 30 matches for Galatasaray, but is expected to return to his parent club this summer, where he will not be short of potential suitors.
By this summer, Osimhen will have a year to run on his Napoli contract, meaning the Italian side face the prospect of seeing their striking asset leave on a free transfer in mid-2026 should he not pen fresh terms.
According to TuttomercatoWeb, United are among several clubs interested in Osimhen's services, a group which also includes Arsenal, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

Juventus in particular are said to have made Osimhen a big target this summer, but a clause in the striker's contract puts United at an advantage when it comes to trying to sign him.
The report mentions that Osimhen has a release clause set at €75m, which equates to £63.2m, but it is only valid for clubs outside of Italy, which means it would not apply to Juve and potentially hamper the Serie A side's effort to land the forward.
Though this clause would also apply to the Gunners and PSG, it does give United an advantage should they end up making a move for Osimhen, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in previous seasons.
