Manchester United will target a striker in January to support Rasmus Hojlund, with the club drawing up a three-man shortlist.
Hojlund joined Man United from Atalanta in a transfer worth £72 million last summer.
He has yet to open his Premier League account, but has three goals to his name, having struck against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray (x2) in the Champions League.

There is a sense at the club that the 20-year-old would benefit from working alongside a more experienced forward, who can also chip in with goals.
Man United are considering adding another forward to their ranks as they believe the right addition would help with Hojlund's development, given his young age.
The recruitment staff are monitoring players across Europe ahead of making a move in January to ease the pressure on the Danish international.

Brentford's Ivan Toney, who has a huge price tag on his head, is thought to be looking for a move away in the near future, with Man United interested.
Arsenal and Chelsea are also looking at the 27-year-old, who registered 20 league goals last season.
Mehdi Taremi, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is on Man United's radar, too. The 31-year-old has been prolific for Porto since moving to the club in 2020.
