Manchester United will have to pay at least £60 million to land their ideal replacement for Harry Maguire, according to a report.
Erik ten Hag is keen to strengthen his defensive options, having been dealt with a series of defensive injuries.
Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have already suffered injuries this season, with the likes of Jonny Evans and Maguire, who was strongly linked with a move away last summer, deputising at the back.
Man United will look to secure a centre-back in January or next summer, with a host of names linked with a switch to Old Trafford.

Benfica's promising Antonio Silva is among the centre-backs on Ten Hag's transfer wishlist.
Not to mention Marc Guehi, who is a target for the Red Devils. The Crystal Palace star would command a fee of £60 million, according to Football Insider.
A January move, however, could be unlikely as the England international is not prepared to move clubs during the season as he wants regular first-team football ahead of Euro 2024.
A summer transfer is a more likely option, with the player's current contract set to run until June 2026.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also shared his insight on Man United's pursuit of Guehi.
He said: "Marc Guehi is continuing to do really well for Crystal Palace and for England as well, so we’re inevitably seeing some fresh rumours about his future, with Manchester United linked with him by some media outlets."
Romano added: "Someone like Guehi has the advantage of being proven in the Premier League."

The 23-year-old earns a reported £50,000-a-week on his current Palace deal following his transfer from Chelsea.
He only made two cup appearances for the Blues before leaving the club.
Guehi has played 91 games for the Selhurst Park outfit since his switch and has become a key part of the club's backline, having made 37 league appearances last season.
