It has been well documented that the Red Devils were looking to sign a new striker but Erik ten Hag decided against Kane and instead went for Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.
According to The Athletic, via the Daily Mail, the reasons behind United’s reluctance to bid for Kane have been revealed.
The report claims that the club did not want to get 'lured into a battle they didn't think they could win'.
Whilst they also felt ‘Kane's preference would still be Bayern, partly because there's no guarantee that Erik ten Hag's men were ready to compete for the biggest trophies’.
Upon sealing his move to Bayern, Kane said an emotional goodbye to Spurs fans.
