Manchester City could go head-to-head with one of their fiercest rivals for a player in the transfer market.
Tottenham Hotspur stunned City by beating the champions 4-0 last night - meaning they have lost five times in a row in all competitions for the first time since 2006.
Indeed, it is also the first time Guardiola has tasted defeat in five successive matches during his illustrious managerial career at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and now City.

The defeat has left City trailing Premier League leaders Liverpool by five points, with Arne Slot's side having a game in hand which they play this afternoon away to Southampton.
Spurs raced into a two-goal advantage inside 20 minutes thanks to a double from James Maddison, with Pedro Porro slotting home a third shortly after half-time.
And Brennan Johnson capped off the victory for Ange Postecoglou's side with a late fourth in injury time to heap further misery on City as the hosts were stunned.

City were buoyed heading into the game after it was confirmed that Guardiola's City contract would be extended for two more years, only for the Spaniard to lose a home game by four goals for the first time as a manager.
The defeat has raised the question of what reinforcements City might need to bring in, and a fresh name has now emerged which would see them duel with their biggest rival.
Manchester United return to action this afternoon in the first game for new boss Ruben Amorim as the Reds travel to take on Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

United have appointed former Sporting boss Amorim after sacking Erik ten Hag and Ruud van Nistelrooy's interim spell in charge.
United have struggled to score goals so far this season and people have naturally made the link that the Old Trafford club could well make a move for prolific Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres.
Amorim cooled any speculation at his first press conference as United boss of the forward, as he said: "Viktor Gyokeres is a Sporting player.
"He has a game tonight [Friday] and I hope he plays well, doesn't get injured and continues to be successful at Sporting."

But United could face competition from City for his signature next summer.
According to The Sun, the striker has a release clause of £65m in his Sporting contract which United hope the arrival of Amorim will help to convince the Sweden international to Old Trafford.
But the newspaper also claims that Hugo Viana's move to City next summer to become the club's new director of football and it could see the two Manchester clubs compete for his signature.
