Manchester City appear to be closing in on completing their first signing of the January transfer window.
Pep Guardiola's side went on a run of just one win in 13 matches at the end of 2024, though have won two of their last three Premier League matches.
City are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table after failing to hold a two-goal lead at Brentford on Tuesday night, with Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard scoring for the hosts in the second half.

They are currently in negotiations to sign Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush, with reports from Sky Sports claiming that the Bundesliga club are demanding £67 million to consider selling the 25-year-old Egypt international.
But it appears that City are closing in on another deal.
Brazilian journalist Leo Barbieri has posted footage of 19-year-old centre-back Vitor Reis appearing to arrive in Manchester with his family after boarding a flight from Brazil.
It is reportedly due to be worth £29.4 million to his current club Palmeiras, whose club president confirmed that she wanted to see the defender stay in Brazil for next summer's Club World Cup.

However, Reis is reportedly set to join City immediately in a move that could help reshape Pep Guardiola's defence.
City are well-stocked in the centre-back area with Ruben Dias, John Stones, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake and Josko Gvardiol all able to play there.
But Gvardiol has been a regular starter at left-back, and Dias and Stones are both currently injured.
A City fan account has tracked a flight from Lisbon to Manchester - a common route used by the club's players and staff - which was believed to have contained the Palmeiras defender.

Meanwhile, the reigning Premier League champions have also agreed a deal worth £33.4 million for Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov, with the Uzbekistan international due to undergo a medical this month.
