Liverpool could seal a dream end to their transfer window by making three major signings - and keeping one of their young talents at the club.
Jurgen Klopp's side have had a mixed window this summer, having allowed several players to leave the club on free transfers ahead of an anticipated rebuild.
That rebuild gathered some early speed with the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai - with Klopp's new-look midfield taking shape.

But then came the departures of two key players - captain Jordan Henderson and defensive midfielder Fabinho, both to Saudi Pro League sides.
Liverpool have now turned their attentions to Southampton starlet Romeo Lavia, but the 19-year-old will not come cheap.
The Reds have failed to meet Southampton's valuation of £50 million, with several bids already rejected by the Championship side.

But, in an ideal scenario, Liverpool can complete the deal - and some more business besides.

Along with Lavia, Liverpool may look to target another central midfielder, with the likes of Nice's Khephren Thuram and Fulham's Joao Palhinha also looked at.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, meanwhile, the Reds have also taken an interest in Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, who played a key role in helping the Italian side to reach the Champions League final last summer.

In addition, a left-sided centre-back may also be looked at. According to Football Insider, Klopp's side previously plotted a move for Chelsea wonderkid Levi Colwill, but the England youth international has signed a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.
Elsewhere, Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi could prove to be a shrewd buy, with the Daily Mail reporting that Liverpool are among clubs interested in signing the £50 million-rated centre-back.

Reds supporters have enjoyed the performances of Ben Doak throughout pre-season, with the 17-year-old Scottish winger impressing onlookers.
Doak could be given opportunities in the Europa League, and further progression could see him become Mohamed Salah's understudy on the right side of attack.
According to journalist Neil Jones, a number of clubs are interested in taking the former Celtic starlet on loan for the season - but Liverpool snubbing those advances would give Doak the opportunity to shine at Anfield this term.
