Liverpool have been dealt a major transfer blow as their potential Mohamed Salah successor is set to sign a new deal at his club.
Salah was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with Al Ittihad looking to sign the star winger during the summer transfer window.
But they ultimately failed in their pursuit of the Egyptian, who stayed put at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp snapping at a reporter after being asked about his prized asset's future following the transfer window slamming shut.
Despite Salah not moving to the Saudi Pro League side, Liverpool have been linked with his successor.

The Reds have a ready-made replacement on their books, with the club also linked with Federico Chiesa, who is wanted by Manchester United amid Jadon Sancho's situation.
Jarrod Bowen is believed to be on Liverpool's radar, too, having watched him 'for a number of seasons'. However, they've been dealt a blow in their pursuit of the England international.
That's because the 26-year-old has agreed a new, long-term deal at West Ham, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer expert claims "it's all done" as Bowen wanted to stay at the London Stadium.

Bowen has been at West Ham since January 2020 following his £18 million switch from Hull City.
He's played 165 games for the club, scoring 45 goals. He scored 13 goals last season as the Hammers won the Europa Conference League.
And he's enjoying a prolific start to this campaign, having scored an impressive five goals in seven matches.

His performances at club level has seen him earn an England call-up, with Gareth Southgate naming him in his squad for their upcoming international fixtures this month.
