Manchester United have lined up an alternative should they fail to sign Benjamin Sesko, with a forward offered to the club in a stunning update.
Man United have turned their attention to Sesko after missing out on Viktor Gyokeres, who snubbed a reunion with Ruben Amorim to sign with Arsenal.
But they face stiff competition to recruit the Slovenian as Newcastle United are hellbent on securing his services ahead of the new season.
Newcastle's pursuit of Sesko comes amid intense transfer speculation linking Alexander Isak with a move to Liverpool.

According to David Ornstein, Newcastle tabled an improved bid for Sesko, having had their initial offer rejected by Leipzig.
Man United have also made an offer, submitting a huge bid.
But if the Red Devils fail to strike a deal with Leipzig for the 22-year-old, then they have a series of other targets on their radar.

Man United have been offered the chance to sign Dusan Vlahovic, who cost Juventus £66.6 million in the summer of 2022.
Vlahovic has been linked with a move away from Italy and has been offered to the Old Trafford outfit in the event that a move for Sesko falls through.
The Serbian, 25, made his name at Fiorentina in the 2020/21 campaign after scoring 21 league goals in 37 games.
He then bagged 17 goals in just 21 matches the following season, prompting Juve to splash the cash to acquire his services.

What other forwards are Manchester United looking at this summer?
Vlahovic isn't the only forward on Man United's radar as Amorim has scoured the market for a new forward.
Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson are among the targets Man United are keeping tabs on ahead of making a potential bid.

Watkins, who was linked with Arsenal in January, has emerged as an option, while Jackson is available after the Blues signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer.
Ruben Amorim is also looking at two Portugal-based forwards
Amorim and Man United are looking at Benfica's Vangelis Pavlidis and Porto's Samu Aghehowa, too, according to The Sun.

Amorim knows the qualities of both Pavlidis and Aghehowa, given they both plied their trade in Portugal's top flight last season.
Pavlidis scored 30 goals across all competitions, while Aghehowa bagged 19 league goals.
