Arsenal have suffered a huge blow ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Last season, the Gunners mounted and sustained a valiant charge for the Premier League title but they were again overhauled by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
In the end, Mikel Arteta’s men finished second, two points behind champions City.
Looking ahead to the summer transfer window, Arsenal have previously been linked with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, who reportedly had a release clause of around £56 million.

However, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has now given a major update on Sesko’s future.
He wrote on social media: “EXCLUSIVE: Benjamin Šeško has decided to STAY at RB Leipzig and sign a new contract on improved terms!
“Decision made for the talented striker, similar to what Haaland decided back in the days at BVB.”
Romano continued: “Šeško will stay at Leipzig with a new gentlemen’s agreement for a future exit.”

As reported by The Athletic, Leipzig are set to announce Sesko’s new deal on Wednesday.
The report stated: “Arsenal had appeared the frontrunner for Sesko’s signature this summer but the player remaining at Leipzig was always a distinct possibility and the biggest threat to thwarting the north London side’s hopes.”
Sesko joined Leipzig from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in 2023 and has so far scored 18 goals in 42 matches for the Bundesliga side.

The 21-year-old is set to play an important part for Slovenia as they kick off their Euro 2024 campaign this weekend against Denmark before facing Serbia and England.
