Arsenal have agreed a record-breaking transfer for an exciting new player just hours after their dominant win over Leeds United.

Less than a week after their nervy 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, Arsenal reassured fans that they are clearly title contenders with a brutal 5-0 win over newly-promoted side Leeds United at the Emirates.

Just days before the match, the Gunners secured a statement signing of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, despite the 27-year-old already agreeing terms with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Shortly before the match against Leeds kicked off, Eze was brought onto the Emirates pitch for his official unveiling, with his debut likely to come during next week's title clash with Liverpool.

But Arsenal's business in the ongoing summer transfer window didn't end with the deal for Eze, as they completed another record transfer just hours after beating Leeds.

With Crystal Palace set to receive a reported £67.5million for their star player, Eze's move to the Gunners takes Arsenal's total spending this summer to around £250million.

Viktor Gyokeres, who scored two at the Emirates on Saturday, Noni Madueke and Martin Zubimendi are just some of the other players who have joined Arsenal in recent weeks, with Shamrock Rovers youngster Victor Ozhianvuna now set to become the latest signing.

According to a report from The Athletic, the 16-year-old, who has been playing first-team football in the League of Ireland’s Premier Division, is set to sign a pre-contract with Arsenal meaning he will join when he turns 18 in January 2027.

Although the exact fee that will be paid to secure his signature is not yet known, it is expected to be an Irish transfer record breaking the previous record set when Spurs signed Mason Melia from St Patrick’s Athletic for £1.6m earlier this year.

The young midfielder has already completed his medical, with the deal set to be signed as early as this week.

Arsenal are said to be delighted with the transfer after several big European clubs have monitored Ozhianvuna as he rose through Shamrock’s youth teams into the first team.

Ozhianvuna, who has played 15 matches for Shamrock Rovers this season, is a right-footed midfielder who typically plays on the left, but it is believed he can play in a number of different positions.
