Arsenal are considering making a last-minute move for a world-class player this summer.

The Gunners have enjoyed a busy transfer window this summer, as they attempt to strengthen their squad and once again push Manchester City in the Premier League.

Their most notable signings have been defender Riccardo Calafiori who came from Serie A club Bologna early in the window, and Mikel Merino who joined from Real Sociedad on Tuesday.

And new reports have suggested that they could be set to make a deal for another elite player ahead of the transfer window closing on Friday.

According to Mail Sport, the Gunners are considering making an offer for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

With Mikel Arteta keen to bring another wide forward to the club to provide competition for Bukayo Saka. Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, the signing could be massive for the London club.

However, a potential stumbling block over any deal for Arsenal could be the finances involved.

The 28-year-old currently earns £300,000 per week at Bayern Munich, meaning he would become the highest paid player at the London club if they were to match his current earnings.

Additionally, the winger has another three years left on his contract and therefore, Bayern may demand a large transfer fee for a permanent move.

However, some reports have suggested that a loan deal for Coman could be an option for Arsenal, removing some of the financial burden that a transfer would entail.

Coman made 27 appearances for the Bundesliga giants last season, scoring five goals and assisting three.

In total, the Frenchman has made 294 appearances since joining Bayern from Juventus in 2017, scoring 63 goals and providing 66 assists.

He is also attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Hilal said to be the most likely Saudi Arabian side to sign the winger.

Coman has also been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Liverpool, but the Merseyside club look set to sign Juventus winger Federico Chiesa instead.

After a successful two-season loan from Juventus, Coman signed a permanent deal with Bayern, with the fee for both the loan and transfer reportedly totalling €28 million.
