Tottenham Hotspur fans were hopeful that new manager Ange Postecoglou would revive the fortunes of their club next season... until the Premier League fixtures were announced.
The 2022/23 Premier League season only drew to a close a few weeks ago but already attention has turned to the new campaign.
Spurs enjoyed a thoroughly disappointing campaign, limping to an eighth-placed finish and missing out on European football.

Their season descended into farce when manager Antonio Conte left the club in March, bringing an end to an unhappy marriage that had somehow dragged eight months into the campaign.
Despite rumours circulating that club legend and captain Harry Kane could leave over the summer, Spurs fans have been buoyed by the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as manager.
The Australian coach enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at Scottish giants Celtic and is regarded by those who've worked with him as an astute tactician and excellent man-manager.

After hiring Nuno Espirito Santo, Jose Mourinho and Conte in recent years, it looks like Daniel Levy has finally made a sensible appointment.
However, if Postecoglou is to enjoy a successful first season in the Spurs dugout, then his side will have to overcome a tough fixture schedule.
Spurs will begin the new season with three away trips in their first four matches but it's the run-in that could cause major issues.

They will face four of last season's top-five finishers across their last six games, including trips to Newcastle and Liverpool either side of home ties against Manchester City and Arsenal.
"We're gonna get battered," tweeted one pessimistic supporter, one of many not feeling confident about their team's chances.
"Newcastle, City, Arsenal and Liverpool in a row, you just know we're gonna start that run top four and finish it eighth," said another.
Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold described the club's fixture list as 'one of the worst run-ins he's seen', to which another supporter responded: "Nah we are finished."

Despite Spurs' start to the season looking fairly average - they'll face newly-promoted sides Sheffield United and Burnley early on - one fan predicted that the North London club will be "looking for a new manager by October."
