Toni Kroos ran the midfield with absolute ease as Real Madrid won the UEFA Super Cup with a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in Helsinki.
David Alaba and Karim Benzema were both on target as the Champions League winners beat the Europa League winners in the Finnish capital.
It was a fourth trophy of 2022 for Carlo Ancelotti's side, who will now be chasing another Club World Cup title when they participate in that tournament.

The victory was Kroos' fourth Super Cup title, having won one with Bayern Munich and three with Real.
And the 32-year-old produced an effortlessly brilliant display that reminded everyone why he is one of the most gifted midfielders of his generation.

Wearing his usual lucky Adidas adipure 11Pro boots that are no longer manufactured, Kroos had 120 touches and had a 94% pass accuracy after completing 97 out of the 102 passes he attempted in 85 minutes.

He also completed 12/14 long passes, conjuring up those trademark switches of play with unbelievable accuracy. Kroos was replaced by new signing Aurelien Tchouameni five minutes from time and was given a standing ovation.
He continues to control and dictate the tempo of games at the highest level and never seems to break a sweat while doing so.
Ancelotti recently compared his midfield trio of Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric to the Bermuda triangle because the 'ball disappears" in that area of the pitch.
Speaking after another triumph, Casemiro hailed his two colleagues and claimed he has "an easy job" playing with them.

"We know each other just by looking at one another," the Brazilian said in a post-match presser.
"I've got an easy job, we're talking about Kroos and Modric who are possibly the best two midfielders in the world.
"There are things in football that cannot be explained, some things just happen in football. I hope we'll continue to be together for a long time to come."
