The Time Trent Alexander-Arnold Perfectly Settled Training Ground Argument With Jesse Lingard

We all know that the best way to solve an issue in football is to have a 'penny on it' but another acceptable solution is a crossbar challenge.

That's exactly what Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jesse Lingard did in England training after an argument.

Lingard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek accused the Liverpool right-back of cheating in a small-sided game.

"Nah move out the way you," Lingard says to Alexander-Arnold. "You, cheating and that."

With both Lingard and Loftus-Cheek unhappy as they felt the ball went out, they refused to shake his hand despite Alexander-Arnold encouraging them to be graceful.

Then, as England's video shows, Lingard challenges his teammate to hit the crossbar from a quite ridiculous distance and says he'll shake his hand if he does so.

Unbelievable from @trentaa98! 😳

'TAA' comes up trumps, catching a sweet strike that cannons off the woodwork.

Lingard's effort was wayward and he had no choice but to extend his hand to his colleague, laughing off the exchange.

Lingard took to social media this week to post a video of himself working hard in training, as he continues to be linked with a move away from Manchester United.

He posted a clip of himself performing shooting drills to Instagram on Thursday, alongside the caption: ā€œWorkingā€.

However, West Ham midfielder Declan Rice couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at his England team-mate, commenting: ā€œThe keeper lost his hands?ā€
