An update regarding Edoardo Bove's condition has emerged after the Fiorentina midfielder collapsed on the pitch during his side's Serie A clash against Inter Milan.
In the 16th minute of Sunday's match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, players from both teams rushed towards Bove, who fell to the ground after bending down to tie his shoelace.
A shielding wall was created for privacy and soon, the midfielder was taken off the pitch in an ambulance and transported to Careggi University Hospital in Florence.

Fiorentina provided an update on Sunday evening, confirming that Bove was "under pharmacological sedation after being hospitalised in intensive care."
A statement added: "Bove arrived at the emergency room in stable hemodynamic condition and the first cardiological and neurological tests performed excluded acute damage to the central nervous system and the cardio-respiratory system."
It emerged on Monday morning that Bove is now "awake, conscious and answering questions", according to Fabrizio Romano, who said the player was extubated after almost 13 hours. Sources also confirmed to Repubblica that there is no brain or heart damage.

A report from Italian publication Gazzetta has since provided an insight into the moments after Bove woke up. It is said the midfielder said “I’m fine” when his family arrived at the Careggi hospital.
The report added: "The first tests had not found any particular thoracic contusions, but a very low potassium value immediately caught the eye, compatible with that type of arrhythmia."
Bove received an outpouring of support in the aftermath of Sunday's terrifying incident, with many sending their well-wishes on social media.
Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso said: "Forza Edoardo, we’re with you. You’re a strong boy with a great character. We’re reaching out to his family during these moments."

Inter Milan president Giuseppe Marotta also commented on the situation, saying: "Inter and the entire football world express their closeness to Bove's family and Fiorentina."
He added: "The decision to postpone the match was spontaneous on everyone's part, we are a community, all the players and even the referee were emotionally involved. We hope it is nothing serious."
Fiorentina goalkeeper David de Gea took to X, formerly Twitter, and wrote: "God Please [prayer emoji]".
