Jhon Duran's Al Nassr salary compared to Cristiano Ronaldo as top 10 Saudi Pro League earners revealed

Duran is on big money at Al Nassr - but how does his wage compare to other top Saudi Pro League stars?

Jhon Duran completed one of the most high-profile moves of the winter transfer window when he left Aston Villa to join Al Nassr for a fee of up to £75 million - but how much will he earn in the Saudi Pro League?

The 21-year-old caused shockwaves when he agreed to leave Villa, who are still in this season's Champions League, to move to Al Nassr.

According to The Athletic, Villa had privately agreed that they would allow Duran to leave in January if an acceptable bid came in for his services.

He will now line up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Colombian making his debut as part of a two-striker system alongside the Portuguese legend in Al Nassr's 4-0 win over Al Wasl in the AFC Champions League on Monday.

Duran is earning €392,500 (around £325,000) per week at Al Nassr, according to Capology, which is a significant increase on his Villa salary.

But how does that compare to other Saudi Pro League stars? Here is a breakdown of the top 10 (via Capology).

Speaking after his move to Al Nassr was confirmed, Duran denied that money was the main factor behind his decision to quit the Premier League.

"Money doesn't move me," he told Al Nassr's TV channel. "I'm happy with this step.

"Many people speculate, but only my family, my agent and I know the reasons behind my decision.

"It's not a step back, the league is competitive with many stars. People who think otherwise should watch me play on the field.

"I am thrilled to learn from the best football star in the world [Ronaldo]. I'm looking forward to growing alongside him."
