Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly paid £177 million-a-year by Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, but he received a tidy fee from a company in the country many years before his switch.

Ronaldo moved to Saudi in a stunning switch back in December 2022 and has earned around £329 million during the tenure.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner makes money through various other means, including endorsement deals and businesses - as well as the recent successful launch of a 'UR' YouTube channel.

On Instagram, it's claimed Ronaldo earns around £1.6 million per sponsored post.

But a few years back, the Football Leaks book, produced by Der Spiegel journalists Rafael Buschmann and Michael Wulzinger, uncovered details on how much it costs to hire Ronaldo for a day.

The book revealed that Mobily, a Saudi telecoms business, did a commercial deal with Ronaldo's Irish image rights company, Multisports & Image Management.

The contract stipulated that the firm received four-and-a-half hours of his time, which included a photo-shoot, five signed Portugal shirts and two plugs across his mammoth social media channels.

Although Mobily had permission to use all images taken throughout the course of the session, they were slightly limited as it was ruled that the advertising would only be regional and exclusive to the Middle East and North Africa area.

For all of the above, Ronaldo and his representatives charged the company an enormous £920,000 - an astronomical amount but this is the most followed person on Instagram we are talking about here.

On his YouTube channel, Ronaldo now boasts 65 million subscribers after breaking all sorts of records within its release.

Across 61 video, he has accrued half a billion views and when you consider you can typically earn between $2 and $12 per 1,000 views, the former Real Madrid marksman has got to be doing pretty well.

Ronaldo is under contract with Al Nassr in 2025 and has scored nine goals in all competitions this season.
