With the clock winding down, Chiedozie Ogbene dispossessed Jack Tucker out wide and looked for support.
Ogbene then took one look at the crowd, who were pointing to Kelly making a late run into the box in unison.
The 25-year-old played it in for Kelly to smash home first time and the away end inside the Priestfield Stadium went wild.

Edmonds-Green opened the scoring just past the half hour mark after poking home Michael Ihiekwe's header.
Gillingham knew they needed at least a point to stay in the division and hit the bar in first half stoppage time.
Hearts were shattered late on however as Kelly fired past Aaron Chapman to send the Gills down.
Gillingham went down on goal difference despite Fleetwood Town's 4-2 loss to Bolton Wanderers.

They'd been in the third tier for nine years and manager Neil Harris was absolutely furious at full-time, laying out his plans for a summer clear out early.
He told Sky Sports in a fiery post-match interview: "We've got seven players under contract. All seven won’t be here next year, that I want or don’t want.
"Players are out of contract, some I'd like to keep the rest can go. We've not been good enough. The balance of the squad, the fitness of the squad, the standards have been a disgrace at this football club. It has to change."
