Quincy Promes has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for stabbing his cousin, according to reports in the Netherlands.
The 31-year-old was sentenced on Monday to 18 months in prison for assaulting his cousin, according to ESPN NL.
The court finds serious assault proven despite Promes' denial, but there was no attempted murder or manslaughter. He will also pay damages to his nephew.

The original incident dates back to a family gathering back in July 2020. According to multiple reports, Promes held a family party at a warehouse in Abcoude and got into an altercation with a male family member.
He stabbed the individual with a knife and caused serious injuries, prompting his arrest in December, where he spent two days in jail before being released.
The Spartak Moscow forward will now serve 18 months in prison as a result of his actions. The club can still appeal against the conviction.

It's not the only situation looming over Promes as he has to stand trial because of the suspicion that he was involved in drug trafficking.
He's prosecuted for the import of more than 1300 kilos of cocaine with a value of £65 million, confirms The Public Prosecution Service.
According to the report in Dutch outlet Het Parool, two batches of about 650 kilos and 713 kilos of cocaine were intercepted in the port of Antwerp at the end of January 2020.
