AI has picked the greatest Premier League XI of all-time and there's some shock admissions as only one of the Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes debate makes it in.
When all of humanity ceases to exist on earth there will still be cockroaches and somehow there will still be the debate about Lampard, Gerrard and Scholes.
The topic might be the one I've written about most in my time on SPORTbible, perhaps only beaten by the discussion about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Personally I'm not convinced the English trio are actually the best three midfielders in the Premier League era but many do believe that.
In fairness there aren't many players who can claim without question that they are the best player in the era in their position.
Ashley Cole at left back springs to mind as the best candidate and it would be tough to make an argument for a different player in that position.

We asked AI site Bard: "What is the all-time best XI in Premier League history?", and the system agreed with us when it came to Cole.
However neither Lampard or Scholes were picked by the artificial intelligence but Liverpool legend Gerrard has kept his place in the team.
In goal Peter Schmeichel was easily the best keeper for his generation and helped Manchester United lift five league titles.

However many think that Petr Cech is actually the best goalkeeper to have ever played in the Premier League, especially going an entire campaign conceding just 15 times.
Cole's place is without doubt and many might consider the same can be said of centre back pair John Terry and Rio Ferdinand.
Virgil van Dijk has been referred to by some as the greatest centre back in the league previously and Nemanja Vidic will also believe he has a good argument to be included.
There's certainly a good discussion to be had that Kyle Walker has overtaken Gary Neville as the league's best ever right back, the Sky Sports pundit would probably say it himself.

The midfield is certainly controversial with the lack of Lampard and Scholes but also the fact that AI has decided to pick a diamond rather than any wingers.
Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira may have struggled to play in a side together in the peak of their powers but they are two of the league's greats.
De Bruyne might be the best of the lot especially after a season in which he helped City to a record equalling third title in-a-row.

Up front fans of Wayne Rooney, Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane might believe their men have a good claim but it's tough to look past the league's all-time top scorer and Henry, arguably the best player in the league's history.
