Senior players at Manchester United 'would support' Mason Greenwood returning to Erik ten Hag's side following their investigation into the forward, according to reports.
Greenwood, 21, has not featured for United in 18 months as he awaits the club's final decision on his future after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped charges of attempted rape, assault and controlling behaviour in February.
United have invested heavily in their squad this summer, with the likes of Andre Onana, Mason Mount and the imminent arrival of Rasmus Hojlund all bolstering Ten Hag's options ahead of the upcoming campaign.

However, the addition of Greenwood could also be on the cards, with United's players open to the former England international's re-introduced into the first team.
That's according to The Sun, who claim that players within the dressing room would be willing to welcome back their team-mate just under two years since his suspension.
The publication claimed: “All the players believe he deserves a second chance because he’s innocent in the eyes of the law.

"He didn’t have the opportunity to clear his name in court because the charges were dropped, so the players feel like he has been left in limbo. They know it will be difficult but they are willing to support him through it, and protect him.
“Some of the younger players came through the academy with him so there’s a loyalty to him. They know he’s made mistakes but the lads who’ve spoken to him say he’s grown up a lot in the past 18 months and will come back a lot wiser.”
Speaking on the future of Greenwood recently, Ten Hag was reluctant to comment on the situation, admitting the decision was out of his hands.

He said: "It's a club decision. Of course I have said my ideas and opinions but it's a club decision. We all have to accept that.
"I can't say so much about it. But what I say is I shared my opinion about it so let's see what's going to happen and what the decision will be."
Regardless of whether Greenwood will return to Old Trafford or not, Ten Hag will be working tirelessly to prepare his side for their opening Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers next Monday.
But before that, United face back-to-back friendlies against RC Lens and Athletic Bilbao scheduled this weekend to help fine-tune his squad ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
