Joao Felix's favourite English club is a shock pick.

Joao Felix has already revealed his favourite English club amid talks to join one of Chelsea's Premier League rivals.

Felix returned to Chelsea last summer, having enjoyed a loan spell at the club in the 2022/23 season.

But he has played a bit-part role since signing for the Blues on a permanent deal for £42 million.

Felix, though, could secure a move this month ahead of next Monday's transfer deadline.

Aston Villa are one of four clubs who have reached out to the player's agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a potential last-minute deal.

If Felix signs for Villa, it'd be the second English club of his career.

A transfer to his favourite English club appears to be a long shot as he revealed in an interview with Adri Contreras that he is a fan of Leeds United.

It's unclear what affiliation he has with Leeds, who are currently in the Championship, pushing for promotion.

Felix would've have been very, very young when Leeds famously reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2001.

The club then dropped out of the Premier League before returning to the top flight until they were relegated back to the Championship.

Felix missed Chelsea's 3-1 defeat at Manchester City after being granted compassionate leave.

Speaking before the Etihad clash, Enzo Maresca touched on the 25-year-old's lack of game time this season.

"For sure, Joao is a Chelsea player." he said.

"The problem, unfortunately, for Joao and Christo [Nkunku], the manager plays most of the games with one attacking midfielder and that is Cole Palmer.

"We have decided to play with an attacking midfielder in most of the games, so this is the reason why Joao and Christo struggle to get minutes - not for any different reasons because they are both fantastic players, fantastic guys who work well.

"The reason why is only because most of the games I decide to play with one attacking midfielder in terms of balance. This is the reason why."

Felix could get minutes under his belt if Villa strike a deal with Chelsea as the two Premier League clubs are in direct contact as they negotiate a deal.
