Fantasy Premier League fans think a newly-promoted player is a must-pick for squads at the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

FPL released initial prices on Thursday, with a number of stars being assigned new positions and price rises/drops for the upcoming campaign.

Among the notable highlights were Kai Havertz being reclassified as a forward following an impressive season for Arsenal, with Richarlison - who was listed as a midfielder last year - now also listed as a forward.

Last season's top-scoring goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has jumped up to a £5.0m value, while FPL favourite Mohamed Salah stays as a midfielder and at a £12.5m value - in big news for players.

Several prices were also assigned to newly-promoted players from Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton.

And the most eye-catching of those was the unveiling of Ipswich left-back Leif Davis, who is priced up at a cool £4.5m.

The 24-year-old does have Premier League experience, although that is limited to two appearances for Leeds in the 2020/21 season.

He then had a loan spell at Bournemouth before joining Ipswich, then of League One, in the summer of 2022.

Davis quickly became a key player under Kieran McKenna, and registered 14 assists as the Tractor Boys earned promotion from League One.

And he provided a stunning 18 assists from his 43 Championship appearances last season as Ipswich ensured they would be playing Premier League football this term for the first time since 2001.

As a result, fans think that, even in anticipation of potential defensive struggles for McKenna's side, Davis has to be considered as a key option in FPL.

One fan wrote: "The Leif Davis bandwagon starts."

Another said: "Davis had 20 goal contributions as a full-back last season, definitely getting him."

A third stated: "Leif Davis is straight in for 4.5m."

And a fourth asked: "Can I have Davis 4x in my back line please?"
