Everton fans have already made their minds up about their new home ground early into their first match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Last weekend, Everton got their 2025/26 Premier League season off to a disappointing start after a controversial penalty awarded to Leeds United sealed a victory for the newly-promoted side at Elland Road.

After Everton defender James Tarkowski was deemed to have handled the ball inside the box, Lukas Nmecha found the back of the net for Leeds in his debut, securing a win for the Yorkshire club.

However, as the match took place away from home, Everton fans were quick to disregard the result and look ahead to their first home game in their new ground, the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

And after just 45 minutes in the new stadium, fans have taken to social media to share their opinion on their new home ground.

After 133 years playing at Goodison Park, the Everton men's team said goodbye to their previous home stadium with a a 2-0 win over relegated Southampton in their final game of last season.

On Sunday afternoon, they welcomed Brighton and Hove Albion to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first Premier League match set to be played in the £802million ground.

And it's safe to say that Everton fans are happy with the new ground, with one taking to social media platform X, writing: "The new stadium looks great be rocking in the winter dark evenings this place."

Another praised the club for helping create a better atmosphere, writing: "Fair play to Everton for listening to their fans and making a proper atmospheric stadium looks like theyve done a good job with the design to where the sound acoustics are pretty good."

While one claimed: "Everton’s first game at the new stadium feels bigger than any transfer this season. History in the making."

Shortly after they walked out onto the Hill Dickinson Stadium pitch for the first time, Everton got their first home game off to the perfect start as star player Iliman Ndiaye opened the scoring.

After scoring the final goal at Goodison Park at the end of last season, it seemed perfect that it was the 25-year-old who scored the first in the new ground.

The goal was made even better as new Everton signing Jack Grealish, who has joined the club from Manchester City on a season-long loan, set up the goal, leading many fans to believe he could be back at his very best.
