Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed that Liverpool supporters threw coins at him during Sunday’s heated Premier League clash at Anfield.
City suffered their first defeat of the season, with Mohamed Salah's brilliant second-half goal enough to secure a vital 1-0 win for Liverpool.
Both sides had numerous chances to score in a pulsating end-to-end contest.
Phil Foden had a goal controversially ruled out in the second half after referee Anthony Taylor judged that Liverpool midfielder Fabinho had been fouled by Erling Haaland in the build-up.

Guardiola was furious with the decision and became involved in an angry exchange with the home supporters in the immediate aftermath of the goal being chalked off.
Speaking after the defeat, which leaves City four points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, Guardiola claimed he was targeted with projectiles during the match.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "Next time they will do it better. They didn't get me."

"They tried [to throw coins] but didn't get me. They got it on the coach years ago but not this time," added Guardiola, referencing an incident from 2018 when City's team bus was hit by projectiles ahead of their Champions League quarter-final first leg at Anfield.
The Telegraph claim Manchester City are now set to lodge an official complaint to the Premier League over the latest incident.
Speaking after the defeat, Guardiola also expressed his frustration with Taylor's officiating and his decision to rule out Foden's goal.

"After we scored a goal, they disallowed it. This is Anfield," Guardiola told Sky Sports.
Meanwhile, City midfielder Bernardo Silva also claimed Taylor was wrong to disallow the goal.
"What we expect from the referees is consistency with their decisions," Silva told Sky Sports.
"When you go through a path of not whistling little contacts throughout the whole game, you need to keep those decisions and keep going that way.

"If you want to whistle all of them, whistle all of them. But if from the beginning of the game you're not, and we saw that in this game he was letting us play – which is good, which is fine – then if there is a goal you cannot whistle that soft one.
"If you want consistency from the referee, you cannot change it just because there is a goal. You have to make the tough decision and keep the goal, in my opinion."
