Nick Powell getting fined at Wigan Athletic for saying 'I tooled your mum' will never, ever be topped.

Powell spent three seasons at Wigan between 2016 and 2019 before securing a move to Stoke City.

He scored 29 goals in 99 games across all competitions, but his time will be best remembered for his £40 fine.

Powell picked up a fine for 'disrespect' after ruthlessly telling a teammate 'I tooled your mum'.

His fine resurfaced online amid Erik ten Hag issuing a set of rules at Manchester United.

The Dutchman is looking to bring a level of discipline at Man United following a terrible Premier League campaign last season.

According to the Mirror, he has told his players that they will be dropped if they are late for training or team meetings, regardless of reputation.

They've also been told they are not allowed to drink alcohol during game weeks to ensure they are in peak physical condition for match day.

The 52-year-old has also overhauled the menu at the club's training base. He is said to want the same chefs preparing meals, rather than them employing their own personal caters.

The menu at Carrington now features a lot more fish and vegetables.

BMI (Body mass index) will be checked monthly and players should come directly to him rather than their agents if they have a complaint.
