In a bizarre move, Romelu Lukaku will wear the number 90 shirt at Serie A side Inter Milan next season - a decision that has sparked plenty of conversation amongst fans.
The 29-year-old striker, who scored 15 goals in 44 games for Chelsea last season following a club record £97.5 million move from Inter Milan, has re-joined the Italian club on a season-long loan.
He will join up with his teammates in the coming days after Inter paid a loan fee of £6.9 million for the Belgium international, plus £3.5 million in bonuses if they win the Scudetto.
Shortly after the deal was confirmed, Inter announced that Lukaku will wear the number 90 jersey for the 2022/23 campaign.
"Romelu Lukaku is back in black and blue," a statement on their official website said. "After arriving in Milan and popping into Inter HQ to meet president Steven Zhang, the Belgium striker spoke to Inter TV before revealing his new shirt number for the coming campaign: No.90."
It was a decision that certainly got people speculating on social media.
One fan said: "There's no way. Inter giving Lukaku the number for the amount of money Chelsea wasted on him is next-level sh*thousery."
Another said: "Romelu Lukaku picking number 90 because that's how much profit Inter have made from him in just one year," while a third commented: "Someone said Inter gave Lukaku the number 90 to represent the profit the club made and I've been dying laughing since."
Lukaku, who wore the number nine shirt during his last spell at the San Siro, will likely begin the campaign wearing 90 if Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko remains in Milan.
The former Manchester City striker recorded 17 goals for the club last season while wearing the number nine jersey.
